Pocillopora eydouxi, known as cauliflower coral, is a widespread species distinguished by the presence of wart-like formations on its surface. Its colonies may be dome-shaped or branching, with variations in color and form influenced by environmental conditions; specimens in shallow reef areas tend to be more compact, while those in deeper, calmer waters develop thinner, more open structures. Each polyp features tentacles, typically extended at night, and the coral can occasionally attach to floating objects, traveling with ocean currents. This particular specimen originates from the Solomon Islands and is accompanied by its CITES certificate, ensuring legal and sustainable sourcing.
