Pocillopora Eydouxi Coral

Pocillopora eydouxi, known as Cauliflower Coral, is a widespread specimen and can be identified by the presence of wart-like formations on its surface. The colonies can be dome-shaped or branching and are highly variable in color and form depending on environmental conditions. Species situated on shallow reefs by the sea tend to be more compact, while those found in deeper calm waters are often thinner and more open in structure. Each polyp has tentacles, although these are normally extended only at night. These corals are sometimes attached to floating objects and can be carried far afield by ocean currents. This particular specimen comes from the Solomon Islands and is accompanied by its respective CITES certificate, ensuring its legal and sustainable sourcing.
